Steps to Become a Paraeducator

Step 1: Complete the online employment application with Polk County Public Schools https://jobs.polk-fl.net

Step 2: Applicants must submit documentation of college credits or a passing score of 457 on the ParaPro Assessment

Option A: College Credits

•Submit official transcripts documenting a minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited college/university.
  -Access your Polk County Public Schools online application.
  -Upload a copy of your official transcript within the My Transcripts & Credentialing section of your application.
  -Click the “Upload Transcript” button and attach the transcript from your device.
•Transcripts must reflect any/all conferred degrees or credit hours successfully completed, the date degrees were conferred or coursework completed, and the college/university issuing the transcript.

Option B: Passing score of 457 on the ParaPro Assessment

•You can access information on registering for and taking the ParaPro Assessment using the links below.
  -ETS ParaPro Assessment Information
  -Florida ParaPro Assessment Testing Centers & Contacts
•Access your Polk County Public Schools online employment application.
•Upload an original or notarized copy of the original ETS Score Report documenting a passing score of at least 457 within the My Transcripts & Credentialing section of your application.
•Click the “Upload Credentialing Documentation” button to attach the document from your device.

Step 3: View and apply for available positions.
