Dear PCPS families,
We want to inform you about a message received by school districts and universities in Florida.
Last night, we were made aware of a threatening email message circulating among the majority of Florida’s school districts. The message did not specify any particular school or district.
Our Safe Schools staff (part of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office) investigated this message thoroughly, and were able to determine there was no credible threat. Again, the threat was not credible, it was determined to be a hoax.
All PCPS schools are operating normally today, there has been no impact to our district.
