We gathered on Friday to celebrate some of the most important people in our district: PCPS volunteers.
These dedicated men and women provide invaluable service to our schools. By giving their time, they help our students and staff reach their full potential. Simply put, we could not do what we do without volunteers.
On Friday, PCPS honored all of the school-level Volunteers of the Year for 2023-24, and we also named the district winners. Without further ado, the overall winners are:
Elementary Level:
- Caitlin Bruckner, Loughman Oaks Elementary, PCPS Youth Volunteer of the Year
- Robert Salazar, Horizons Elementary, PCPS Adult Volunteer of the Year
- Leonda Narramore, Pinewood Elementary, PCPS Senior Volunteer of the Year
Secondary Level:
- Stephanie Miller, Bartow High, PCPS Adult Volunteer of the Year
- Gwendolyn Diaz, Lakeland High, PCPS Senior Volunteer of the Year
The districtwide winners each received a trophy and prize package donated by sponsors: Chick-fil-A (Bartow), Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa (Lakeland), and IDX Brands. The Volunteer of the Year Awards are made by possible by our title sponsor, MidFlorida Credit Union.
We’d also like to thank our guest speaker, Troy C. Smith (also a PCPS volunteer), and thanks to Floral Avenue Elementary students for providing the musical entertainment.
Thank you to all of our honorees!
