School Start Times Not Changing in 2026-27

PCPS families:
We’ve received some questions about our school start times for the 2026-27 school year, and we’d like to confirm that there are NO districtwide changes for Polk County Public Schools.
A previous law would have required statewide changes in school start times beginning next year, but that law was repealed in May 2025. As a result, PCPS will not be altering our start times throughout the district.
As always, we strongly encourage families to attend orientation before the new year, and reach out to your schools with any specific questions about schedules or operations.
