
Polk County Public Schools is starting the adoption process for new fine arts instructional materials for elementary and secondary students.
The school district’s Department of Fine Arts is looking for volunteers to serve as members of the Fine Arts Instructional Materials Adoption Committee.
This committee will review potential instructional materials submitted by publishers before making a recommendation to the School Board for adoption. The instructional materials submitted will cover the following Fine Arts content areas:
- Elementary music
- Elementary visual art
- Secondary instrumental music
- Secondary visual arts
- Secondary theatre
We are looking for parents, community members and PCPS employees who would like to be part of the Instructional Review Committee. Each committee will meet for two consecutive days in August.
The committee will hold meetings on Aug. 28 and Aug. 29 from 8:00 am to 3:30pm at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 4270 Wallace Road in Lakeland.
