Home Education Students & Scholarship Students

Participation in the Florida Department of Education’s state assessment administrations is not required by state statute for students enrolled in an established Florida Home Education Program or the various scholarship programs offered by the State of Florida, including the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program, the Hope Scholarship Program, and the Personalized Education Program.

Families may choose to participate in the FLDOE’s state assessment administrations to satisfy an annual evaluation or a norm-referenced test requirement, work towards Florida Diploma graduation requirements, and/or monitor learning progress.

Students may participate in the following assessments:

  • B.E.S.T. Writing (Grades 4 – 10)
    • Spring Administration
  • End-of-Course Exams (Algebra, Biology, Civics – Middle School, Geometry, U.S. History – High School)
    • Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer Administration
  • FAST ELA Reading PM3 (Grades 3 – 10, 11/12 Retake)
    • Grades 3 – 10 = Spring Administration
    • Retake = Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer Administration
  • FAST Math PM3 (Grades 3 – 8)
    • Spring Administration
  • Statewide Science Assessment (Grades 5 & 8)
    • Spring Administration
