Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct provides rules and regulations to govern student behavior during school, en route to and from school, and at school-related events. It also outlines actions that interfere with school programs and/or are prohibited by state law.

Facility Rental Procedures

Recognizing that taxpayers have invested significant revenue into district owned schools and facilities throughout Polk County, the School Board of Polk County encourages shared use of school district owned facilities by the community if such use is of a lawful purpose and does not interfere with the educational or programmatic purpose of the requested School Board owned property. The purpose of the following procedures is to establish the rules and conditions for the use of the School Board of Polk County owned facilities and grounds in accordance with Board policy.

Use of Facilities During School Day Requests

Community-based organizations or individuals may wish to provide presentations to students during non-instructional time.

They must make a written request to have such access, and their application must go through a review process.

Polk County Public Schools has specific procedures and guidelines for community-based organizations or individuals who wish to submit a request. These procedures have been established to ensure compliance with Florida Statutes (F.S. 1001.433), School Board policy, and district safety standards.

School Board Policies

The School Board of Polk County determines and adopts lawful policies and programs that are deemed necessary for the efficient operation and general improvement of the school district. The School Board also adopts rules and regulations to supplement those prescribed by the State Board of Education that will contribute to an orderly and efficient operation of the school district.

Student Progression Plan

The Student Progression Plan for Polk County Public Schools presents the School Board rule and administrative procedures required for implementing state legislative and local School Board pupil progression requirements. Specific criteria have been set in the Student Progression Plan. The plan is designed to indicate what actions will be taken during the school year to assist the student. Particular emphasis is placed upon the pupil’s mastery of basic skills before he/she is promoted.

Wireless Communication Device Policy

Our goal is to create a safe environment, conducive to learning, and free from distractions that hinder the learning process. PCPS has established the following practices in line with HB 1105 and District policy 5136-Wireless Communication Devices as stated in the Code of Student Conduct.
